Modern Muscle Cars for Sale

I grew up in the late 1960s and early 1970s when the first classic muscle car phase happened, and I’m delighted to see the amount of interest now taking place to start a second phase of modern muscle cars.It warms my heart to see the media attention and excited input from automotive experts being given to the 2015 Dodge Challenger Hellcat, although Ford and Chevrolet certainly won’t take this lying down. As a result, I expect to see some enthusiastic and spirited competition from each of the big-3 auto makers in the near future. Below please find some facts about each of the modern muscle cars for your planning research along with links to eBay Motors should you be looking to buy.

Modern Dodge Muscle Cars
2008-2015 Dodge Challengers for Sale
The modern-era Dodge Challenger (third generation) started with the 2008 model, and was reintroduced as a result of the fifth generation Ford Mustangs and Chevrolet Camaros. The Challenger’s immense popularity has increased in recent years as over 50,000 Challengers were sold in both 2013 and 2014. The 2015 year also promises to be an incredibly busy year for sales with the advent of the Challenger SRT Hellcat and its 707 horsepower, 6.2 liter hemi powerplant that dodge states as “the most powerful muscle car ever.”The public response has been so strong in buying the new Challenger Hellcats that Dodge has temporarily delayed accepting new orders until its manufacturing division catches up.

2006-2015 Dodge Chargers for Sale
After a 19 year hiatus, Dodge reintroduced the Charger again in 2006 and this popular model has continued on through till at least 2015. For the 2015 model, Dodge based its design inspiration on the 1969 Charger. For available options, the Charger comes in SXT, R/T and SRT models. There is also the new Charger SRT Hellcat version sporting the 707 hp, 6.2 L V8 hemi engine that tops out at 204 mph. And for the family-minded, environmentally conscious, or light-on-the-pedal crowd, a 292 hp, 3.6 liter, V6 Charger is also available that is rated at 31 mpg and is rated by Dodge as the best in the class for fuel efficiency.

Modern Chevrolet Muscle Cars
2010-2015 Chevy Camaros for Sale
The modern Chevy Camaro is currently being manufactured from 2010 to 2015 (fifth generation),after factory production stopped in 2002. Early models featured the LS, LT and SS trim packages. The LS and LT models included a 312 horsepower 3.6 L V6, while the SS model featured the 6.2 L LS3 V8 engine operating at 426 horsepower. In 2012, this year marked the 45th anniversary of the birth of the Camaro, and celebrated this event with a model available only in carbon flash metallic paint. In 2013, a Camaro ZL1 convertible was introduced. For 2014, the Camaro was redesigned to include a fresh body style and also included the reintroduction of the Z/28 model. 2005-2015 Chevrolet Corvettes for Sale
Although the Corvette is a sports car and not a muscle car, it deserves special mention here given its illustrious career and humble beginnings in 1953. The sixth-generation C6 Corvette started production in 2005 and replaced the C5 version with a longer wheelbase, more passenger room and a new 400 hp, 6.0 liter LS2 V8 engine that had a top speed of 190 mph. In 2006, the Z06 model arrived having a 505 hp, 7.0 liter LS7 engine. The ZR1 model was introduced in 2009 and featured an Eaton supercharged 6.2 liter LS9 engine that produced 638 hp and a top speed of 205 mph. However, the heads of Chevrolet grew increasingly worried that the Vette was being perceived as an old-man’s car, and the seventh-generation C7 Corvette debuted in 2014 with increased marketing efforts targeting young people. The 2014 C7 was chosen as the 2013 Indianapolis pace car and has a 6.2 liter LT1 V8 powerplant producing 455 hp.

2005-2006 Ford GTs for Sale
Ford created the GT (Grand Touring) model in 2005 in deference to the great American-
British GT40 endurance racing car of the 1960s. It was only manufactured for two years (2005 and 2006), however Ford does have plans to introduce a completely redesigned Ford GT in 2016. The GT looked similar to the original GT40, but was wider and 3 inches taller (43 inches) in comparison to the GT40. The mid-mounted 5.4 L modular V8 engine was equipped with a supercharger that generated 550hp at 6500 rpm. The car was sold with a Ricardo 6-speed manual transmission. Slightly over 4000 cars were actually built before production ceased, however demand was at a premium for the exotic looking car. A former Microsoft executive bought the first GT built at a charity auction for over $557,000.
